Local and foreign book lovers are recommended to visit an ongoing international book fair and exhibition in Hanoi this weekend as there are only three days left until it closes.

The fifth biannual 2015 International Book Fair, organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications, is running from Thursday to Monday next week at Thong Nhat Park in Hai Ba Trung District.

This year’s event attracts around 20 foreign well-known, major publishers including Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Macmillan, Cengage, Pearson, Simon & Schuster, and Hachette Book Group USA.

Some international publishing organizations and associations also take part in the event, including the ASEAN Book Publishers Association, representatives of the Asia Pacific Publishers Association, and the Cuban Book Institute.

In total, more than 100 local and foreign publishing units are showcasing their best products at 200 booths at the event, where visitors can also take part in around 30 activities such as seminars, talk shows, and introduction meetings of Vietnam’s latest, typical publications.

The exhibition also showcases a wide range of rare artifacts and documentaries about the formation and development of publishing activities in Vietnam.

More than 3,000 publications on remarkable achievements of Vietnam after 30 years of renovation are also on display at the event.
