The world-renowned German disco band Boney M and Chris Norman, former lead singer of the British soft rock band Smokie, are poised to electrify fans in Hanoi in two months.

Boney M and Norman are expected to arrive in the Vietnamese capital for an upcoming concert in October, according to IB Group, a Hanoi-based media service company.

The German band, formed in 1976, has stormed to top hits on many music charts and has gained popularity in many countries, such as Germany, the UK, the U.S., and Asian nations.

In the 1980s, the band’s music widely spread through houses in urban and rural areas in Vietnam with hits like Daddy Cool, Rasputin, Rivers of Babylon, and Brown Girl in the Ring.

Norman, the former lead singer of Smokie, a well-known name to international soft rock fans, including Vietnamese, will also join the show.

Many of the band’s hits were widely embraced in the 1980s, namely If You Think You Know How to Love Me, Living Next Door to Alice, Lay Back in the Arms of Aomeone, Stumblin’ In, and others.
