Artists from the Philippines have snatched the first prize at the Fifth Vietnam International Choir Competition held in the popular town of Hoi An, located in the central province of Quang Nam.

The Philippines’ La Salle Chorale was named the winner of the event on Saturday evening, after four days of outstanding performances in five different categories.

The competition took place at a hotel by the local beach under the theme of ‘International Melody,’ following which the event organizers decided to award the participants 29 gold medals and 18 silver ones in total.

With a total score of 24.8, the Filipino choir was honored with the grant prize of the competition.

The closing ceremony was attended by over 1,000 artists of 34 choirs from Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Russia, Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam.

They then took part in a parade along the streets of Hoi An for a farewell.
