Vietnam, Russia vow to boost military technical ties

Vietnam and Russia have agreed to strengthen military technical cooperation to promote the friendship and links between the two countries’ armies and peoples.

>> VN, Russia to step up defense cooperation The agreement was made at the 15th meeting of the Vietnam-Russia Inter-Governmental Committee on Military-Technical Cooperation in Hanoi on October 10. The event was co-chaired by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Truong Quang Khanh and Deputy Director of the Russian Federal Services for Military-Technical Cooperation Viacheslav Karlovich Dzirkaln, head of a Russian delegation that began its three-day working visit to Vietnam on October 9, at the invitation of Deputy Defense Minister Khanh.

At the meeting, the two sides expressed their pleasure at the Vietnam-Russia friendship and ties over the past time, particularly in military and military technical cooperation. They also agreed to boost cooperation in priority issues to meet each country’s demands and interests.

Earlier in May, Deputy Defense Minister Khanh said that Vietnam’s armed forces and people always treasure the friendship and cooperation with their Russian counterparts.

The official made the statement at a meeting between Khanh and visiting Acting Chairman of the Military Science Committee of the Armed Forces of Russian Federation, Guzenco Oleg Borisovich, in Hanoi on May 22.

Khanh said the Russian official’s visit will help strengthen scientific research cooperation in various fields, thereby implementing bilateral agreements signed by high-ranking leaders of the two countries.
