Vietnam always attaches great importance to its bilateral relations with Argentina and aims to foster the comprehensive partnership between the two nations, Vuong Dinh Hue, chairman of the Vietnamese lawmaking National Assembly, told an event to mark the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam-Argentina diplomatic relationship in the Latin American nation on Tuesday evening (local time).

Speaking of global situations, Hue said that the world, despite enormous potential and advances, is facing multiple challenges.

He expected nations worldwide to unite and join hands to respond to global challenges.

“The challenges are big, but they act as a motivation for nations worldwide to develop and innovate,” he said.

The top Vietnamese legislator believed that Vietnam and Argentina in particular, and Southeast Asian and Latin American nations in general, will significantly contribute to the process of overcoming global hardship.

Vietnam is following an independent, self-defense, peaceful, friendly, and cooperative diplomatic strategy, he noted.

The country also proactively boosts in-depth international integration, making it a reliable partner and a positive and responsible member of the global community.

“In the context of fierce and complicated strategic competition among major nations, Vietnam decisively selects reason and international law rather than a certain side," Hue underlined.

"Vietnam proactively promotes its position in multilateral relations.

“The country also actively joins hands with partners to build a peaceful and stable world and ensure the benefits of the people with respect for international law and the United Nations Charter."

The 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam set a goal for Vietnam that it will be a developing country with modern industry and a high average per capita income by 2030, which marks the 100th anniversary of Vietnam’s Communist Party.

In 2045, which marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the country, Vietnam will become a developed nation.

During the country’s innovation and international integration period, the National Assembly has played a leading role in legislating on strategies and political policies, making decisions on important issues, and monitoring compliance with laws.

Vietnam has diplomatic relations with all the 33 nations in Latin America. Given the ongoing complicated global situation, Vietnam expects Latin American countries to enhance cooperation to multiply strength.

The Vietnamese National Assembly chairman underlined that Vietnam appreciates the relationship with Argentina and desires to deepen the comprehensive partnership with the latter.

Concluding his speech at the event, Hue said that “the best way to predict the future is to build it! To picture the Vietnam-Argentina relations in the next 50 years, we should beef up cooperation to create the future of this relationship.

“Once we unite, our will alone will be able to eliminate all hindrances for a better future.

“We have sufficient basis to believe that the two countries and the two regions will cooperate comprehensively, closely, and practically to produce achievements.

“The two nations will continue seeing their partnership flourish in the next 10-50 years.

Hue met with Vietnamese officials, the staffers of the Vietnamese Embassy in Argentina, and the Vietnamese community in the Latin American nation on Wednesday.

The official and a high-ranking delegation arrived in Argentina on Sunday to start his official visit to the country.

Argentina is the second destination on the top Vietnamese legislator’s trip to three Latin American countries, Cuba, Argentina, and Uruguay, between April 18 and 28.
