This series of key events will finalize Indonesia’s ASEAN chairmanship this year.

These events are also the biggest annual high-level activity in the region, with the participation of the leaders of the ASEAN members, and some partners, including China, the United States, South Korea, Japan, Canada, India, Australia, Russia, New Zealand, and the United Nations.

These summits are organized amid global economic uncertainties, potential global inflation, political issues, and fierce competition.

Meanwhile, the Asia-Pacific region and the Indian Ocean are both the hub of growth and the heart of competition, seeing complicated developments in the East Vietnam Sea, violence and instability in Myanmar, tensions in the Korean Peninsula, and military conflicts in Ukraine.

Despite multiple challenges, the ASEAN community is maintaining solidarity and moving toward long-term development until 2045 to cement its key position in the region.

The 43rd ASEAN Summit and Related Summits will give a chance to the leaders of the ASEAN member states to table some measures to leverage the ASEAN community, develop its economy, foster cooperation between ASEAN and other partners, and deepen the partnership between the ASEAN members.

Besides, the top officials will discuss international and regional issues to maintain peace and stability.

At the summits, Prime Minister Chinh will deliver his speech to express Vietnam’s viewpoints and put forward some initiatives and solutions for mutual growth.

ASEAN, fully known as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, consists of 10 full-fledged member states: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Vietnam has been a full member of ASEAN since July 28, 1995.
