Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh paid a visit to the Vietnamese pavilion at the 20th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) in Nanning, the capital city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China, on Sunday morning.
After pressing a button to open the pavilion, the top Vietnamese official visited some booths showcasing Vietnamese products made by Trung Nguyen, Biti’s, Vinamilk, and TH True Milk, among others.
The prime minister wished Vietnamese exhibitors to strike big deals with potential partners after the expo.

At this year’s CAEXPO, the Vietnamese pavilion is the second largest, after host China, comprising 200 booths of 120 enterprises.

A variety of high quality Vietnamese products which are expected to be sold in the Chinese and ASEAN markets are on display at CAEXPO.

Many Chinese are showing much interest in Vietnam’s booth of durians, whose export revenue target is US$1 billion in 2023.
The prime minister also dropped into a Chinese booth of technology, and was impressed by China’s space technology.

Prime Minister Chinh arrived in Nanning on Saturday morning to attend the 20th China-ASEAN Expo and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) slated for September 16 to 17.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of these events, PM Chinh proposed China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) bolster import and export activities to make the latter China’s first trade partner with two-way trade exceeding $1 trillion.
The two sides should quickly finalize negotiations over the upgrading of the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area agreement, and expand the pilot program of smart border gates to ramp up trade, he said.

PM Chinh and his entourage returned home from Nanning at noon on Sunday after the visit, wrapping up a successful trip.
In addition to his attendance at CAEXPO and CABIS, PM Chinh also held talks with his Chinese counterpart Li Qiang, while joining multiple activities to drive up bilateral ties.
