-- Le Van Khoa, vice-chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, has approved a plan to install cameras that monitor flood levels and drainage systems across the metropolis, in an effort to alleviate the effects of flooding in the city.

-- The Saigon Water Corporation wants to sell two land plots after pulling down two water towers which have been dilapidated. The two pieces of land are located in Thu Duc and Binh Thanh Districts in Ho Chi Minh City.

-- A second body has been found as rescuers searched for the remains of the Vietnamese coast guard aircraft CASA-212, which crashed on Thursday last week. One of the bodies appeared to belong to one of the nine flight crew members aboard the plane, according to a naval official.

-- Ho Van Hai, 35, residing in the central Vietnamese province of Quang Ngai, jumped off from the sixth floor of a local hospital with his 28-month-old child in his arms on Thursday morning, resulting in the baby dying instantly. Hai suffered severe bone fractures and succumbed to injuries in the afternoon.

-- The People’s Committee in the southern province of Ca Mau affirmed on Thursday that Tieu Van Luan, 57, the owner of a local hotel, had been arrested for buying sex from minors.

-- Many farmers in Kien Giang Province, located in the Mekong Delta, have been overly concerned after their paddy crops died, as some local residents had intentionally pumped salt water into their farm areas in order to raise shrimps.

-- VinEco, a subsidiary of Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup, began selling its green vegetable products, which were grown in greenhouses using Israeli technology, on Thursday. The veggies are exclusively sold in the supermarket chains of Vinmart and Vinmart+ in northern provinces cities.

-- Vietnamese State President Tran Dai Quang on Thursday welcomed a delegation of local business leaders at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi. The leaders were participants of a forum on integrating into the era of free trade agreements organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the National Assembly Committee for Foreign Relations.
