-- Police in the northern province of Thai Binh said on Tuesday that they were looking into a fatal crash of a ship loaded with stone powder into a small boat. The accident, occurring on late Monday on a section of the Hong River, a major waterway in the north, killed three members in a family and leaving another eight-year-old member missing.

-- The bus station in front of Ho Chi Minh City’s iconic Ben Thanh Market will be moved to Ham Nghi Street, also in the downtown area, next month to facilitate the ongoing construction of the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro line.

-- Relentless downpours on Tuesday claimed one life and drenched several localities in the northern province of Quang Ninh, including Ha Long City, home to the UNESCO-recognized Ha Long Bay, and Do Son District in the neighboring city of Hai Phong. The northern and north-central regions are forecast to experience more torrential rains and cyclones today, July 6.

-- A male driver of local taxi operator Mai Linh Group on Tuesday confessed to robbing and suffocating a 24-year-old female passenger while driving her around Ha Tinh City, the heart of the north-central Vietnamese province of Ha Tinh, before dumping her body into a river nearby on Sunday night.Business

-- Unscrupulous realty intermediary companies have preyed on unsuspecting clients, particularly elderly people, over recent times.

-- Nguyen Van Sau, deputy director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang, has announced that China Southern Airlines will launch direct flights from China’s Guangchou Province to Phu Quoc, Vietnam's largest island and heavenly attraction, starting today, July 6. The launch is expected to bring around 1,000 Chinese air passengers to the island per week.

-- Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has green-lighted a proposal submitted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to host the 2019 edition of the ASEAN Tourism Forum, a cooperative effort of promoting the Association of Southeast Asian Nations region as a single tourist destination, the Government Office announced on Tuesday.
