-- A plan for the construction of the new Mien Tay (Western) Bus Station in Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City has been prepared by the Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation (SAMCO) and is expected to be complete in April. The new bus station will be connected to a metro station and other public transport infrastructure.

-- Temperature in southern Vietnam has dropped to a record low since the beginning of the dry season, which was 21 degrees Celsius in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday.

-- High tides inundated Nha Be District in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday evening, causing difficulty for local residents and commuters.

-- Police in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum have arrested a suspect who was responsible for stoning a passenger bus on Saturday night, causing damage to the vehicle and injuring a passenger.

-- Authorities in the southern province of Kien Giang have urged the Ministry of Public Security to probe a case in which Thai coast guard officers shot and wounded a Vietnamese fisherman in September last year.

-- A man in the northern province of Dien Bien has committed suicide after murdering three people in a family over a land dispute, officers affirmed on Sunday.


-- Vietnam is expected to produce 19.6 million metric tons of steel in 2017, up two million metric tons compared to the previous year, said Nguyen Van Sua, vice-president of the Vietnam Steel Association.

-- A wide variety of flowers and gifts, both domestically made and imported, has been offered at souvenir stores and florists across Vietnam as Valentine’s Day is coming.

-- According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, Thai imports have topped US$592 million, a sharp increase due to tax reduction, which is the result of the ASEAN Trade In Goods Agreement.


-- The Ministry of Education and Training has asked competent bodies to inspect all facilities at local schools following a case in which a kindergartener fell into a deep pit after the toilet floor collapsed in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak last week.
