-- Vietnam's deputy foreign minister Nguyen Quoc Dung on Monday received Xi Hui, Consul General of the newly-established Chinese Consulate General in the central Vietnamese city of Da Nang.

-- Agriculture inspectors in the southern province of Bac Lieu on Monday caught a truck carrying 16 boxes of prawns, weighing a total of 426kg, suspected of being injected with substances to make them look big and fresh.

-- With airlines beginning to increase airfares following unexpected service fee hikes, tour operators have been driven to the verge of losses as they had charged tourists with the old air ticket prices.

-- Vietnam will play Afghanistan in the Group C opener of the third round of the qualifiers for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup in Tajikistan today, March 28, with Vietnamese coach Nguyen Huu Thang feeling upbeat that his team "stand a chance of winning."
