-- Leaders of the Party’s Committee and People’s Committee in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak have raised public concern over a number of luxury state-owned cars at their disposal, one of which was gifted by a local bank.

-- The propaganda and education commission under the Hanoi Party Committee revealed on Tuesday that only 25 out of 48 complaints filed by residents in Dong Tam Commune, My Duc District, 30km from the city center, are grounded, following the illegal capture of 38 law enforcement officers by villagers in an escalating land-related protest late last week.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport will take drastic measures to tackle 12 out of 40 flooding hotspots during the coming rainy season, director Bui Xuan Cuong, told reporters on Tuesday.

-- Police in the mountainous district of Ba Thuoc in the north-central province of Thanh Hoa have given back to a kindergarten teacher more than VND60 million (US$ 2,609), meant to provide lunch for preschoolers at her school, and other belongings after she had accidentally dropped her briefcase during a downpour earlier this month.

-- Vietnam spent approximately VND22 trillion ($956.9 million) importing animal feed and raw ingredients within only the first three months of 2017, a surge of up to 41.6 percent against the same period last year.

-- Ho Chi Minh City received more than 6,000 visits from Japanese entrepreneurs to seek investment opportunities in 2016, with 77 enterprises established following the trips, Koji Yamamoto, head representative of the city’s office of the Japan External Trade Organization, revealed during a meeting on Tuesday with the municipal leaders.

-- Vietnamese travel firms have yet to tap into the rich potential of the online tour market, delegates said at a Tuesday seminar jointly organized by Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper and Google.
