Politics -- Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc began a two-day visit to Cambodia at the invitation of Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni on Monday, as the two countries are celebrating the 50^th anniversary of diplomatic relations. -- Vietnam and New Zealand look forward to lifting their bilateral relations to a higher level, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and visiting Foreign Minister of New Zealand Murray McCully said after having talks in Hanoi on Monday.Society -- The administration of the southern province of Kien Giang has approved a US$2.9 million project to develop a smart city on Phu Quoc Island in the 2016-20 period. -- Police in the southern province of Dong Nai said on Monday they had detained seven people involved in a counterfeit money ring that smuggled VND80 million ($3,571) worth of fake banknotes into Vietnam from China. -- Customs officers at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi said on Monday they had detected 3kg of suspected rhino horn hidden in the luggage of a passenger arriving from Myanmar last weekend.

-- Besides allowing a developer to build a golf course without the premier’s approval on a 140 hectare area of protection forest, the administration of the south-central province of Phu Yen has also been found allocating a total of 1,000 hectares of forest land to 20 different investment projects.

-- Some 38 million Vietnamese people are using mobile phones to access social networks, with 94 percent of them doing so on a daily basis, according to a report by mobile platform provider Appota.

Business -- Many drivers in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong City and other localities have refused to use modern, well-equipped toll roads to avoid the high fees and confusing toll collection regulations there.
