-- A project to build overpasses linked to terminals of Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, at an estimated cost of VND2.6 trillion (US$112.9 million), is slated to kick off by the end of this year in a bid to alleviate traffic congestion at the entrance to the aerodrome.

-- People traveling back to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi after spending the four-day holiday in their hometowns were mired in traffic congestion on arterial highways on Tuesday.

-- Three 12th graders drowned after swimming in a river in Phu Binh District in the northern province of Thai Nguyen on Tuesday afternoon. 

-- An oil tanker under the Micronesian flag on Tuesday carried the body of a Vietnamese fisherman and his 13 fellow crewmen to Quy Nhon Port in the south-central province of Binh Dinh following a collision on Monday which injured another crew member.

-- Police in Vinh Linh District in the central province of Quang Tri, which remains riddled with wartime unexploded ordnance, have confirmed they had arrested some suspects for attempting to transport a 300-kg bomb with its fuse intact for sale.

-- Three drivers were rushed to hospital on Tuesday noon after their cars rammed into one another on a section of the Ho Chi Minh City- Long Thanh- Dau Giay Expressway, which links the southern metropolis with neighboring Dong Nai Province.

-- An official from the Vietnam Competition Administration Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade has disclosed they have received a plethora of complaints about the shoddy quality and inauthentic origins of consumer goods sold online despite the boom that e-commerce in Vietnam has experienced over recent years.

-- The Ministry of Industry and Trade has appointed Nguyen Thanh Nam, Sabeco's deputy general director the group’s new general director, which is one of the country’s top state-owned brewers.

-- Hoang Thanh Van, head of the Department of Livestock Production, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, has told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that intact pigs meant for pork have seen slight price increases following numerous moves to assist desperate farmers.
