-- Vietnam strongly condemns terrorist acts in any form and holds that such deeds must be strictly punished, spokesperson of the foreign ministry Le Thi Thu Hang said on Monday, in response to Sunday's terror attack in London.

-- Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc briefed attendees on economic achievements Vietnam has gained over the last 30 years, while affirming the country’s determination to build an incorruptible government as he delivered a speech at the 23rd International Conference on the Future of Asia in Tokyo on Monday.

-- Vietnam's dairy giant Vinamilk on Monday handed over 110,020 mangrove trees, worth more than VND800 million (US$35,242) to the administration of the coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, which will grow the plants in areas affected by sea erosion and pollution caused by nearby seafood processing factories.

-- Officers of the border guard unit in the northern province of Son La said on Monday they were holding two Laotians captive for smuggling 5,800 tablets of meth into Vietnam.

-- Five young men, aged 16 to 20, have been arrested for allegedly gang-raping a 13-year-old girl in the southern province of An Giang, police said Monday.

-- A 73-year-old woman died from an apparent heatstroke while driving her motorbike in Hanoi, which is hit by a record hot spell with temperatures well above 40 degrees Celsius, on Monday.

-- Police in the northern city of Hai Phong have arrested all four young members of a gang, aged 16-18, who had attacked many motorcyclists from behind with various weapons to steal their assets.

-- Vietnam's carrier Vietjet and Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance Company Limited on Monday signed a strategic agreement whereby the Japanese firm will finance the airline's acquisition of three brand new A321 aircraft, worth US$348 million. The signing was witnessed by Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who is on a June 4-8 visit to Japan.

 -- Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe witnessed the signing of contracts, investment licenses and agreements worth a combined $22 billion between the two countries' agencies and businesses at an investment promotion conference in Tokyo on Monday.

-- International convenience store chain 7-Eleven is slated to open its very first Vietnamese outlet in Ho Chi Minh City this month.

-- Vietnam’s leading food processing company Vissan has joined local An Ha Co. Ltd. to offer pork meeting the high-quality VietGAP standard at affordable prices, starting from only VND45,000 ($2) a kg.

-- Wish Tree, an installation art by Japanese multimedia artist Yoko Ono, wife of Beatles legend John Lennon, is on display at a June 6-8 contemporary art exhibition called The Foliage in Hanoi, along with artworks by 17 other Vietnamese and international artists.
