-- Vietnamese State President Tran Dai Quang pledged to elevate the ties between the Southeast Asian nation and Belarus to a new height for mutual benefit during a meeting held on Tuesday in the capital of Minsk with Belarusian President Aleksandr Grigoryevich Lukashenko as part of his official visits to Russia and Belarus, which run from June 26 to July 1.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport will open two legs of Nguyen Van Cu Overpass connecting streets in District 1 and District 5 to traffic on Thursday in another bid to alleviate traffic congestion.

-- More than 10 steel-clad fishing boats built under a governmental decree and owned by fishermen in the north-central province of Thanh Hoa have sustained extensive damage as of June 2017.

-- Several experts warned at the 2017 Vietnam Economic Forum held on Tuesday that Vietnam should not strive to achieve growth targets at all costs, including excessively exploiting natural resources.  

-- Local Internet service providers have entered a fierce race in international data roaming services by offering tempting discounts since early this month.

-- The Ministry of Transport has requested Grab and Uber cease their ride-sharing services on contracted/hired cars for violation of current laws.  

-- The Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade announced on Tuesday they were working with their Australian counterpart to export more Vietnamese specialty fruits, including dragon fruits, to Australia.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has announced nearly 1,500 new classrooms will be put into use in different grades citywide in the upcoming academic year.

Lifestyle

-- Tran Le Quang Tien, a 15-year-old Vietnamese violist, has for the first time in the past 20 years nabbed a special prize for his performance of a contemporary work by a Vietnamese composer at the 10th Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians, which has wrapped up in Kazakhstan and attracted more than 300 contestants.
