-- Vietnam’s Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien has strongly condemned violence targeted at medical staff on duty and urged better protection following two recent attacks at physicians in the past few days.    

-- Ho Chi Minh City authorities and competent agencies are working hard to implement six projects to built alternative routes to Tan Son Nhat International Airport and ease traffic pressure around the hectic airdrome.  

-- More than 1,000 police and army officers partook in a massive security drill on Tuesday in the central city of Da Nang to best prepare for the 2017 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, which will run on November 6-11 and welcome at least 18 world leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump.

-- Dr.Vo Kim Cuong, former deputy chief architect of Ho Chi Minh City, proposed at a recent meeting that the southern metropolis be divided into the eastern and western sections for more efficient infrastructure investment and focused growth.


-- Vietnamese seafood producers and exporters have raised concerns the ‘sanction’ imposed by the European Union (EU) over violation of the Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing rules will hurt their export activity to the European market and increase costs.

-- Delegates at a conference on Tuesday pointed out connection between goods producers, retailers and consumers remains inadequate, resulting in poor performance in several sectors.

-- Tourism authorities in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding with their counterparts in Tien Giang Province and Can Tho City in the Mekong Delta and the north-central province of Ha Tinh to develop appealing tour packages and tap on each locality’s potential.  


-- The Breast Cancer Network Vietnam, a member of the Union for International Cancer Control, is calling for 4,000 hair donations, which will be gifted to cancer patients, particularly women combating breast cancer.

-- Music pieces from beloved opera plays and films will be performed by local artists and a Vietnamese American violin virtuoso during a Vietnam- U.S. friendship concert, to take place on Sunday night at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House in the downtown area.
