-- Australia’s President of the Senate Scott Ryan and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tony Smith on Thursday welcomed Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, his spouse and a Vietnamese delegation on their official visit to Australia from March 14 to 16, describing the visit as an important hallmark in 2018 when the two countries are celebrating the 45th anniversary of their diplomatic ties.

-- President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae In and his spouse will pay a state visit to Vietnam from March 22 to 24 at the invitation of Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang, after Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov’s official visit from March 19 to 20 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.

-- More than 215,000 college graduates were unemployed in the fourth quarter of 2017, according to the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

-- Around 400 enterprises in the southern province of Dong Nai have donated more than VND16.3 billion (US$718,062) to help over 1,000 people who are in difficult circumstances after being released from prison.

-- According to forecasts of the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, there are around 12-13 storms and tropical depressions to hit the East Vietnam Sea in 2018 and 5-6 ones to directly affect mainland Vietnam.

-- On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-Italy diplomatic relation establishment, the Vietnamese-Italian Fall and Winter Fashion Week will be held at Dien Hong Flower Garden in Hanoi from March 17 to 19, featuring works by 16 local and two Italian designers.

-- More than 330,000 tourists from Vietnam came to South Korea in 2017 while over 1,200 Vietnamese tourists headed to Singapore per day in the same year, according to the two countries’ tourism organizations.
