Tan was descending the Ham Luong Bridge, which crosses the namesake river to connect Ben Tre City and Mo Cay Bac District in the province, on Saturday morning when his motorbike collided with a truck traveling in the opposite direction.

The truck was steered by 22-year-old Pham Ngoc Quyen, who lives in the southern province of Dong Nai.

The accident instantly killed Tan, while his head was cut off and fell to the ground underneath the bridge.

The truck had its front damaged and lay entirely in the lane of the opposite direction.
