A torrential rain that lasted several hours on Saturday afternoon caused many streets in Ho Chi Minh City to be inundated, especially near Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

According to the observation of Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper reporters, the situation was most serious at the entrance of the major airdrome, which is situated in Tan Binh District.

Along such streets as Truong Son, Dong Nai, and Hau Giang, commuters faced immense challenges as rainwater caused many motorcycles to break down.

The downpour accompanied by strong gusts broke a tree on Cong Hoa Street.

Although nobody was injured, the tree blocked part of the street, causing congestion along the route for hours.

The section of Hoang Van Thu Street passing the nearby Hoang Van Thu Park in Phu Nhuan District also fell victim to the flooding.

Meanwhile, in Thu Duc District, multiple routes were also inundated, especially Vo Van Ngan Street, where commuters had to pay extra attention to prevent themselves from tripping and falling.
