Police in Vietnam have summoned a man to be the guardian for two kids who had been caught stealing from two houses earlier this week.
Nguyen Thanh A, from Tra Vinh Province, was named the guardian for his two children, seven and nine years old, police officers said on Sunday.
A’s kids had been found stealing property from two households on Thursday, police said.
The children sneaked into the two houses in Ward 6, Tra Vinh City, which is the provincial capital, at 2:00 pm on that day and stole VND900,000 (US$39) in cash together with one earring, they admitted to police officers.
The two went on to steal from a third house when they were nabbed by locals who then turned the thieves in to police.
The kids are “addicted” to computer games and often wander from home, officers said, adding that they had managed to steal property for 25 times since the beginning of this year.
Police have returned them back to their family for care and education.
