Police in Ho Chi Minh City said on Monday night they had arrested a man suspected of killing four family members in the city’s suburban district of Hoc Mon and the neighboring province of Long An.
The man, identified as Nguyen Hoang Nam, 26, was taken into police custody at around 10:00 pm the same day.
Police said Nam had visited a relative in Long An and allegedly killed her, before returning to his house in Hoc Mon on Monday afternoon.
Local media said on Tuesday the deceased victim in Long An was the grandmother of Nam’s wife.

The suspect had apparently consumed meth prior to his killing spree, according to officers.
Law enforcement also said Nam had recently served time at a reformatory for robbery conviction.
