-- Sizzling temperatures are forecast to impact all the northern, central and southern regions of Vietnam from today to Monday next week, with highs ranging from 35 to 37 degrees Celsius. Particularly, mercury can be as high as 40 degrees Celsius in some northern and central areas, while rains in the evening and night are in the forecast for the south.

-- A traffic police in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau died from fatal injuries on Wednesday as he chased a Ford Ranger that was fleeing the scene after causing a serial accident in the neighboring province of Dong Nai.

-- Citizens across several districts in Ho Chi Minh City such as District 9, District 8, District 3, Tan Binh and Binh Tan Districts have complained about unexpected blackouts that occurred during bedtime for three days in a row, affecting their sleep quality and daily routines.

-- Malaysia’s AirAsia Group cancelled plans to enter Vietnam’s crowded aviation market on Wednesday, Reuters reported.

-- The ticket prices of the Ho Chi Minh City – Khanh Hoa passenger bus route are allowed to be increased no more than 40 percent from the current rates during the long holiday to celebrate Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1), the Khanh Hoa transport department said on Thursday.
