A Vietnamese woman has been arrested for stealing from an American man following their sexual encounter at his residence in Ho Chi Minh City.
Police officers in District 2 confirmed on Wednesday they had captured N.N.T., a 35-year-old resident in District 11, for theft.
The victim is a 31-year-old United States citizen, who is now living at an apartment building in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City.
Preliminary information showed that the American man had been drinking at a beer shop on Bui Vien Street in District 1 on Sunday night.
He left the venue at 5:00 am the following morning and was about to catch a taxi home when T. approached him on her motorbike.
She started a conversation with him and offered him a ride home.
Upon arrival, the woman accompanied the U.S. man to his apartment, where they had sex.
As the victim fell asleep after the intercourse, T. took his laptop, MasterCard, and a large amount of cash in foreign currency as she left the apartment.
The victim reported the incident to police officers at 11:00 am the same day.
Law enforcement officers eventually identified the woman and took her into custody.
At the police station, T. claimed she had sold the laptop for VND5 million (US$215), exchanged the foreign currency for VND3.5 million ($150), and spent nearly $1,000 on the MasterCard.
