-- Chairwoman of Vietnam’s National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan held talks with Chairman of the Mazhilis (Lower House) of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nigmatulin on Thursday, following a welcome ceremony for the guest the same day, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

-- Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan hosted President of the Hessen State Parliament Boris Rhein in the southern city on Thursday, the Vietnam News Agency reported.  


-- Police in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province are hunting for a father suspected of killing his own two children. The bodies of the two, 10 months old and two years old, were found by locals in the beach city of Vung Tau on Thursday.  

-- The People’s Procuracy of Nha Trang City in south-central Vietnam on Thursday proposed the local court give Tran Vu Hai, a well-known lawyer, and his wife Ngo Tuyet Phuong a non-custodial sentence of 12-15 months for tax evasion.

-- Police have arrested four people for an investigation into their wrongdoing leading to losses in the construction of an expressway connecting Da Nang to Quang Ngai in central Vietnam.


-- Vietnam’s National Assebly deputies have questioned the cost of US$16 billion to build Long Thanh International Airport in southern Dong Nai Province to ease pressure on Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, saying it could be too high in comparison to similar airports in other countries.


-- Italian Marcelo Lippi has resigned as the head coach of China after his team lost 1-2 to Syria in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Thursday.

-- Many foreigners joined Vietnamese supporters in Hanoi on Thursday night to celebrate Vietnam’s 1-0 victory over the UAE in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier at My Dinh National Stadium.
