-- Four employees aged 17 to 21 were killed after a fire broke out at a restaurant in the northern Vietnamese province of Vinh Phuc at around 4:00 am on Saturday.

-- An abandoned cargo ship, which is 30 meters long and has Chinese characters on its hull, washed up on the coast in the north-central province of Ha Tinh on Friday night, local authorities confirmed on Saturday.

-- Vietnamese rescue ship SAR 27-01 on Saturday brought a crew member of an Indian vessel ashore in Nha Trang City, located in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa, for emergency treatment of his serious spine injury.

-- A 25-year-old man in the southern province of Binh Phuoc has drowned following a failed attempt to save his six-year-old nephew, who had fallen into a four-meter-deep well.

-- Police in the north-central province of Quang Binh confirmed on Saturday they had arrested a 41-year-old man and his 19-year-old son for illegally possessing more than 900 kilograms of firecrackers inside their home.


-- Thousands of shoppers still had to wait for over an hour to be able to enter the store of Japanese apparel brand Uniqlo in downtown Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday following its grand opening on Friday morning.  


-- Thousands of football lovers filled the streets in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday night to celebrate the 4-0 victory of Vietnam U22s over their Cambodian opponents in the semifinals of men’s football at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines.

-- Vietnam secured an additional eight gold, seven silver, and ten bronze medals on Saturday, the seventh competition day of the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines, retaining its third place on the medal tally.


-- Nguyen Tran Khanh Van, a 24-year-old contestant from Ho Chi Minh City, was crowned Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 at the final night of the beauty pageant that was organized in Nha Trang City on Saturday evening.
