-- From 6:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, traffic is limited on the sections of Truong Sa and Hoang Sa Streets from Le Van Sy Bridge to Tran Khanh Du Bridge in District 1, District 3 and Phu Nhuan District in Ho Chi Minh City for a run to mark the 75th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22).

-- The National Traffic Safety Committee has requested the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security to inspect and verify the case of a young Vietnamese man who claims to have ridden a motorbike for 1,700 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi in less than 20 hours, seriously violating regulations on traffic safety.

-- The construction of a new industrial and hazardous solid waste treatment plant with a total capacity of 500 metric tons a day commenced at Da Phuoc Solid Waste Treatment Complex in Binh Chanh District in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday afternoon.


-- Nguyen Huynh Trang, deputy director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, urged food production firms to replace single-use packages with environment-friendly ones at a recent meeting organized by the Food and Foodstuff Association of Ho Chi Minh City.


-- ‘Sac Mau Cuoc Song’ (Colors of Life), an exhibition featuring 40 large photos taken by five Vietnamese artists in different places around the world to raise fund for people with cataracts, is taking place at 184 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City until January 10, 2020.

-- Nearly 100 photos of Vietnamese ethnic people printed on silk are on display at an outdoor exhibition at Xuan Huong Lake in Da Lat City in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong in conjunction with the Da Lat Flower Festival 2019 which takes place on December 20-24.

-- The 2019 World Press Photo Exhibition, organized by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Vietnam, is taking place in Hanoi, presenting stories with different perspective through more than 100 photos on display.

-- A seventh-grade student from Vietnam, whose paintings are being compared to works by renowned American artist Jackson Pollock, is hosting his first solo exhibition at the George Berges Gallery in Manhattan, New York, through January 2, 2020.


-- Four Vietnamese players were included in Fox Sports Asia’s ASEAN Best 11 of 2019, a list published on Friday afternoon to honor Southeast Asian footballers who have impressed at the international arena this year.
