— The Criminal Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security on Sunday busted a prostitution ring allegedly involving former beauty pageant contestants solicited by Luc Trieu Vy, 27, for a price of US$18,000 to $30,000.

— Vietnam’s novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) tally stood at 372 on Monday morning, with 22 in treatment and 350 recoveries, according to the Ministry of Health.

— Ho Minh Nen, director of the Center for Disease Control in the central province of Quang Ngai, on Sunday said the province was quarantining 37 people in contact with Vietnam’s 370th COVID-19 patient, a Serbian expert who was sent to a quarantine center upon entry into Vietnam on July 9, one day before testing positive for the coronavirus.

— In an email to Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday night, Dr. Drew Posey from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention congratulated the hospital on successfully treating Vietnam’s 91th patient, a British pilot who was once the country’s most critical COVID-19 case. He was discharged from the infirmary and returned to his home country on the same day.

— A Vietnamese fishing boat was caught and six crewmen, including the captain, arrested by Thai officers in the Gulf of Thailand on Saturday, Marine Police Division 7 commander Pol Col Sarawut Litchaweerat said at a press conference on Sunday, Bangkok Post reported. The Vietnamese were accused of illegal fishing and intruding on Thai waters.
