Police in District 9, Ho Chi Minh City randomly found a large quantity of weapons at the home of a Vietnamese man after catching him on his way delivering guns this week.
Officers were patrolling Duong Dinh Hoi Street in Tang Nhon Phu B Ward on Thursday when they found Pham Phuong Minh, 36, hailing from the south-central province of Phu Yen, exhibiting some suspicious signs.
The team stopped Minh for a random search and discovered he was carrying one stun gun, six bullets, one canister of pepper spray, and one electrical pliers.
Minh was then taken to the district police’s headquarters for clarification of those weapons.
At the police station, Minh admitted the weapons were meant to be delivered to an online customer.
Police thus launched a search of Minh’s temporary residence in Hiep Binh Chanh Ward, Thu Duc District, where they found and seized 558 support tools and rudimentary weapons hidden in his room.
Minh have been kept in custody for illegally buying, selling, and storing support tools and rudimentary weapons.
The case is still being investigated.
