— The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has decided to close five airports in Quang Nam, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Binh, Nghe An Provinces and Da Nang City during specific hours on Saturday and Sunday due to Storm Vamco, prompting airlines to delay or cancel several flights to and from these airdromes.

— Nguyen Thi Oanh, a runner from the northern Vietnamese province of Bac Giang who won three gold medals at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, on Friday afternoon finished first in the 10,000m category at the 2020 Vietnam National Athletics Championships in 34:08.54, smashing the national record of 34:48.28 having stood for 17 years.
