Vietnam’s Ministry of Health recorded 15 local coronavirus cases on Friday, including one detected through screening at a medical facility.
Thirteen of the new cases were found in centralized quarantine centers, the health ministry said.
One of the remaining infections was detected in a lock-down area, whereas the other was diagnosed through screening at a medical center.
All 15 cases were registered in Hai Duong Province, which is Vietnam’s current coronavirus hotbed.
The health ministry announced 22 recovered patients on Friday.
Vietnam has detected 2,362 COVID-19 cases as of Friday night, with 1,627 recoveries and 35 deaths, according to the ministry’s data.
A total of 770 locally-transmitted infections have been logged in 13 provinces and cities since January 28, when Vietnam confirmed a new coronavirus wave after having spent almost two months detecting zero domestic cases.
Among them, 590 patients have been reported in Hai Duong Province, 60 in Quang Ninh Province, 27 in Gia Lai Province, 35 in Hanoi, five in Bac Ninh Province, two in Bac Giang Province, 36 in Ho Chi Minh City, two in Hoa Binh Province, one in Ha Giang Province, three in Dien Bien Province, six in Binh Duong Province, one in Hai Phong, and two in Hung Yen Province.
Vietnam is quarantining nearly 140,000 people who had close contact with infected patients or entered the country from pathogen-struck regions.
