A fifth-grade girl died after being struck by a long-haul bus in Vietnam on Monday afternoon.
A bus of Khanh Quynh Company operating on the Vinh City - Con Cuong Town route in Nghe An Province collided with a motorbike traveling in the same direction on National Highway 7 in Dinh Son Commune, Anh Son District at around 2:00 pm on Monday, according to initial information.
The bus kept running after the crash and struck a 10-year-old girl, who hailed from Dinh Son and was riding a bicycle to school.
Two people were rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment, but the little girl was declared dead at the scene.
Rain caused roads to become slippery at that time, witnesses said.
At the scene, the passenger bus tipped over in a roadside ditch and the bicycle of the fifth grader was still trapped under the vehicle.
