-- Temperatures as low as seven degrees Celsius caused by an extremely strong cold front are forecast to linger through Tuesday in the northern and north-central regions of Vietnam, according to the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.
-- Thousands of people from lowland provinces and cities flocked to the Mau Son peak in northern Lang Son Province on Sunday morning to watch frost, causing traffic congestion on the main route to the top of the mountain.
-- Two eight-year-old twin siblings drowned while playing near a river in the southernmost province of Ca Mau on Saturday afternoon.
-- A collective wedding of 20 couples, who are medical staff of the Military Hospital 175, took place at the Ho Chi Minh City-based institution on Sunday evening after their separate wedding ceremonies had been postponed last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
-- The Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control announced on Sunday that it had detected a new cluster of COVID-19 cases and quickly implemented control measures at a monastery in Go Vap District.
-- The Vietnam Food Administration (VFA) under the Ministry of Health has just warned of the risk of Cronobacter sakazakii and Salmonella newport bacteria contamination associated with the use of nutritional formula products manufactured at Abbott Nutrition’s Sturgis in the U.S. and imported into Vietnam.

-- Many schools in Hanoi, Quang Ninh Province, Hai Phong City, and Hai Duong Province have decided to allow students to stay home in order to avoid extreme weather as temperatures have remained under ten degrees Celsius.

-- The Vietnam Football Federation announced on Sunday evening the urgent reinforcement of six additional players to the country’s team competing at the 2022 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U23 Youth Championship in Cambodia after nearly half of the squad had tested positive for COVID-19.
-- International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach declared the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games closed there on Sunday, according to the official Xinhua news agency.
