-- Showers are in the forecast for some areas in Vietnam’s southern region on Wednesday from late afternoon until evening, according to the southern hydro-meteorological station.
-- Vehicles will be banned from using the seven-kilometer-long Prenn Pass to travel to Da Lat City in Vietnam’s Central Highlands province of Lam Dong for work upgrading and widening the pass to begin on February 6. Such vehicles are advised to take the Mimosa Pass and a connecting road from the Lien Khuong-Prenn Expressway to the Tuyen Lam tourist site as an alternative route, excluding trucks, after the closure.
-- A fire broke out at a massage and spa service facility in An Khanh Ward, Thu Duc City under Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday afternoon. The accident caused no casualties but serious damage to many properties.
-- The Hanoi Department of Transport has rerouted traffic at the Chua Boc-Pham Ngoc Thach intersection in Dong Da District for the construction of the fourth phase of a overpass project until April 28.
Business
-- Vietnamese airports served approximately 13,000 landings and more than 1.9 million passengers during the recent seven-day Lunar New Year break, up 39 percent and 58 percent year on year, respectively, according to the Department of Transportation under the Ministry of Transport.
-- More than 871,000 international tourists came to Vietnam in the first month of this year, 258,946 of whom came from South Korea, according to the General Statistics Office.

-- Late Vietnamese poet and writer Suong Nguyet Anh is featured by Google Doodles on Wednesday to mark the first publication of Nu Gioi Chung (Women’s Bell), Vietnam’s first women’s newspaper where Anh was the chief editor.
