South Korea’s Jeollanam-do Province will offer a 15-day visa-free policy to Vietnamese travelers, provincial governor Kim Yung-Rok said at an event in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam on Saturday afternoon.
At the signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement on maintaining tourists between Vietnam and Jeollanam-do, Kim said Vietnamese tourists visiting Jeollanam-do will also receive support in traveling and accommodation.
South Korean and Vietnamese tourism enterprises as well as Vietnamese air carrier Pacific Airlines will join hands to launch visa-free tours to Jeollanam-do Province for Vietnamese travelers.
This is the first visa-free tours to meet Vietnamese travelers’ demand for visiting South Korea after the COVID-19 pandemic was kept at bay.

There will be one flight per week. Between April and October this year, 43 charter flights are expected to be operated, carrying nearly 10,000 Vietnamese passenger arrivals to Jeollanam-do.
Flights of Pacific Airlines depart at 0:10 am every Saturday and return at 0:30 am on Wednesday of the following week, starting from April 14.
The Jeollanam-do governor also introduced the province’s attractive destinations, including green tea plantations in Boseong County, Seonamsa Temple, Naganeupseong Folk Village, Suncheon Bay National Garden, and Suncheon Open Film Set, as well as tourism products, such as riding horses on the Shinan Beach and riding kayaks over the Gokseong Waterfall.
South Korea is the largest source market of the province's tourism, according to the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism.
Since early this year, the province has welcomed more than 90,000 South Korean tourists.
Over the past few years, South Korean travelers have preferred traveling to Khanh Hoa thanks to favorable air services. It takes only four hours to fly from South Korea’s Seoul, Busan, and Daegu to Khanh Hoa.
At present, some 10 flights from South Korea lands at Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa per day.
According to representatives of some Vietnamese travel companies specializing in serving South Korean visitors, besides Jeollanam-do, Vietnamese travelers can take visa-free tours to South Korea’s Jeju Island and Gangwon Province.
