-- Dien Bien Airport in the eponymous province, located in northern Vietnam, will close for eight months for an expansion and upgrade starting April 15, according to a decision issued by Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang on Tuesday.

-- A teacher who had suffered a serious traumatic brain injury after her motorbike hit a stray dog in northern Phu Tho Province earlier this month was able to make her very first communication and limb movements on Tuesday after two weeks of intensive treatment.

-- Authorities in District 4, Ho Chi Minh City said on Tuesday that they had fined a local woman VND64 million (US$2,713) for fostering 82 dogs in her 2.6m-wide house, causing environmental pollution.

-- There will be high tides in the southern coastal area from Wednesday to Friday, according to the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

-- Vietnam is ranked 65th, up 12 places from 2022, in the World Happiness Report 2023 prepared by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network.
