Police in northern Vietnam’s Hai Phong City apprehended two Chinese nationals wanted by China for organizing illegal gambling, debt trading, and illegal debt collection.

The municipal police said on Wednesday evening that they had handed over the two offenders to the Ministry of Public Security’s Criminal Police.

After being notified that Zeng Yong, 34, and Kuang Wei Hua, 41, had entered Vietnam, the Hai Phong police department mobilized forces to investigate all foreigners in the city.

On March 23, the Hai Phong police teamed up with the Criminal Police Department to scout the city and capture the two suspects.

Zeng and Kuang were charged with operating gambling rings, unlawfully offering loans, coercing transactions, and using violence for debt collection.

The two confessed to their crimes at the police station.
