Public workers in Vietnam will enjoy four consecutive days off from September 1 to 4 for the National Day (September 2) holiday, according to the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs.

Traditionally, workers in the country are entitled to two days off for the National Day.

However, the National Day this year falls on Saturday, so public workers will be given an extra day off on Monday (September 4) to ensure they still have two work days off.

Public workers will thus have a four-day break from Friday (September 1) to Monday (September 4).

Agencies and organizations that do not implement a fixed work regime with two days off every weekend should rely on their specific operation plans to arrange a suitable holiday schedule.

Laborers who are not public officials and civil servants will be off on Saturday (September 2) and one preceding or following day.

Laborers in Vietnam were just given a five-day holiday to celebrate Hung Kings Commemoration Day (April 29), Reunification Day (April 30), and International Workers’ Day (May 1).

From 2021, Vietnam has a total of 11 public holidays, including the two days off for the National Day.
