The administration of My Tho City in Tien Giang Province, southern Vietnam is facilitating site clearance works for building two riverside roads and parks by the Bao Dinh River in the city, with a total investment of nearly VND2 trillion (US$84.4 million), said a local official on Saturday.
According to Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuong, head of the provincial management board for civil and industrial project development, VND1.35 trillion ($56.9 million) of the project’s total investment is backed by the central budget, while the provincial budget covers the rest.

The two roads will have a total length of nearly 10km and a width of 3.5-8m.
The project developer will build many parks and set up a lighting system along the riverside roads.
The project, scheduled to complete in 2027, will contribute to efforts to fight against land erosion and flooding in the riverine area, and to adapt to climate change, in addition to promoting tourism connectivity between Tien Giang and its neighbor Long An.
