Authorities conducted a preliminary assessment of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that had been found washing ashore on a beach in Quang Ngai Province, central Vietnam by a local fisherman on Friday evening.
On Saturday, the Border Guard Station at Sa Ky Port, operating under the provincial Border Guard, affirmed its collaboration with local military authorities in conducting an evaluation of the UAV.
At around 6:00 pm on Friday, Tran Thanh, aged 65, stumbled upon what appeared to be a UAV with a body adorned in foreign languages.
He made this discovery while fishing along the coastline in Tinh Ky Commune, situated in the provincial capital city of Quang Ngai.

Finding it a bit strange, Thanh asked his relatives to take this pilotless aircraft home for display.
Later, Thanh decided to report his discovery of the UAV to the Border Guard Station at Sa Ky Port, as he found that this object had an unusual design and weight.
Some details and equipment of the UAV were deformed likely due to having drifted in water for a long time, thereby making the authorities unable to release a detailed assessment.
According to their preliminary findings, the three-meter-long object is very likely a UAV, is 30 centimeters in diameter, and has two 65cm-long wings.
The nose, tail, and body of the drone featured many numbers and letters in foreign languages, along with propellers.
It was handed over to the Border Guard Station at Sa Ky Port for further identification.
