-- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called on relevant units to shorten the construction time of the Long Thanh International Airport project in southern Dong Nai Province by three to six months during his inspection trip to the construction site of the project on Tuesday. The big-ticket airport project was planned to be completed in the first half of 2026.

-- An accident of six cars on a Phan Thiet-Dau Giay Expressway section in Dong Nai Province on Tuesday afternoon caused congestion stretching five kilometers while the road was crammed with people and vehicles returning to Ho Chi Minh City from central localities after the Lunar New Year holiday, commonly known as Tet.

-- A coach carrying over 30 people overturned after colliding with a motorbike in Yen Bai Province in northern Vietnam on Tuesday, leaving one dead and many others injured, a local official told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper the same day.

-- A large tree tragically fell and caused the demise of a girl who was selling flowers for Valentine's Day in Dak Lak Province in the Central Highlands on Tuesday, a local official reported the same day.

-- Residents discovered a whale carcass weighing nearly one metric ton washed up on a beach in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam on Tuesday morning.

-- The Department of Tourism in Kien Giang Province in southern Vietnam has required supporting nearly 300 Taiwanese tourists who were left stranded on Phu Quoc Island in the province to visit the island and return to Taiwan as scheduled. They encountered the unexpected incident due to a financial dispute between a Taiwanese travel agency and a local operator.

-- U.S. worker safety officials fined Elon Musk’s SpaceX $3,600 this month after an accident at its site in Washington state led to a “near amputation,” according to inspection records reviewed by Reuters.

-- Alaska Air flight attendants authorized a strike mandate for the first time in three decades, as thousands of cabin crew across three unions picketed for higher pay outside airports in the United States, the UK and Guam on Tuesday, Reuters reported.
