Ho Chi Minh City has called for investments in 23 cultural and sporting projects valued at nearly VND25 trillion (US$992 million), with some major projects expected to beautify cultural and sports infrastructure in the southern metropolis.
At a recent conference to promote investments in these projects, the municipal administration introduced investors to five key projects in need of a combined investment capital of over VND2.3 trillion ($91.3 million) as well as 18 others.
These priority projects will drive up the allure of the city’s cultural and sports facilities, which will contribute to turning Ho Chi Minh City into one of the regional and international hubs of sporting, cultural, and arts events.
Once these projects are completed, they will boost the development of the sporting and culture industry in the city.
Investment in these projects will be carried out under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, as outlined in Resolution 98, which sets forth special mechanisms and policies for Ho Chi Minh City's development.
This mechanism provides the city with greater flexibility, helping to overcome obstacles and unlock its potential to mobilize capital for the renovation and construction of cultural and sporting infrastructure.
