In preparation for the inaugural Green Vietnam Festival, Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper held a meeting on Monday with over 60 businesses from various sectors who will showcase their green products and innovations at the fest.

The event, organized in collaboration with the Packaging Recycling Organization Vietnam (PRO VN) and other partners, aims to offer an immersive eco-friendly experience to raise awareness about the green economy.

Scheduled for November 9-10 at the Youth Culture House at 4 Pham Ngoc Thach Street in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, the festival will feature eco-friendly products, models, and solutions from diverse industries, promoting the principles of a circular economy.

Tran Xuan Toan, deputy editor-in-chief of Tuoi Tre, emphasized that the Vietnam Green Day goes beyond a simple exhibition of green products.

"It's an opportunity for businesses to share sustainability messages and demonstrate their commitment to environmental protection," said Toan.

The two-day event is expected to draw around 20,000 attendees in person and hundreds of thousands of online viewers.

Toan encouraged businesses to prepare thoroughly, not only with their displays but also their communication strategies to leave a unique green mark.

"Real-life action stories will captivate and distinguish businesses, enhancing their sustainable and credible image among consumers," he added.

Phan Minh Tan, a representative from Duy Tan Recycled Plastics, shared that the company will showcase its latest recycled plastic beads and related products at the fest.

Duy Tan will also introduce an on-site plastic recycling machine capable of sorting and processing bottles into plastic fragments in just three steps, a significant improvement over the traditional 11-step process.

In addition to green product and model displays, many businesses have planned interactive activities, including reward-based games and trade-in programs for visitors.

Nguyen Manh Hung from the fashion brand Ben & Tod revealed that visitors to their booth will receive a VND100,000 (US$3.93) discount voucher and can trade old clothes for new items.

Similarly, Cho Tot (Good Marketplace), a leading online marketplace in Vietnam, will feature two zones: Cho Tot and Cho Tot Xe (Good Marketplace Vehicle).

The Cho Tot Xe area will promote their ‘Sell Old Gasoline-Fueled Motorbikes, Switch to New Electric Vehicles’ initiative to encourage the shift toward eco-friendly transportation.

Visitors can also participate in a Kahoot game to win prizes.

The Greenmart Vietnam Company will offer eco-friendly products like bamboo thermos bottles, cups, grass handbags, bamboo pens, and reed straws as gifts to those who visit their booth and participate in their games.

Vo Hung Thuat, director of the Media Service Center at Tuoi Tre, highlighted that various interactive activities will be spread across the event.

Sessions will include dialogues on green consumption, sustainable living, and eco-friendly models led by top speakers and experts.

Some highlights include ‘Sorting Trash Properly - Trash as a Resource,’ ‘Businesses and Sustainable Development Solutions,’ ‘Implementing Multidimensional Carbon Neutrality Projects,’ and the 'Green Recreation' competition awards ceremony.

The festival will also feature the Tuoi Tre Start-Up Award 2024 roundtable, 'Building a Brand from Scratch,' and a gala event with notable entrepreneurs.

Attendees can join mini games such as waste sorting, painting, and workshops, with a chance to win prizes and meet stars from the hit reality music show Anh trai say hi (Say Hi to Bros), featuring 30 young male artists from Vietnam.
