Police in Ho Chi Minh City confirmed on Saturday that they had dismantled a large-scale drug trafficking ring operating between Cambodia and Vietnam, resulting in the arrest of 27 suspects and the seizure of over 30kg of narcotics.
Authorities found that such large quantities of narcotics had been smuggled from Cambodia into Ho Chi Minh City via the southwestern border.
The drugs were then stored in an apartment in Binh Chanh District, where gang leaders directed their subordinates to use tech-based delivery services to distribute drugs to dealers and users.
Following a meticulous investigation, police conducted a pre-dawn raid on Thursday this week, apprehending three ringleaders as they were transporting drugs to an apartment for repackaging and distribution.

The raid yielded over 30 kilograms of various narcotics, including three bricks of heroin, 8kg of methamphetamine, over 12kg of ketamine, tens of thousands of ecstasy pills, and liquid narcotics.
Later that day, multiple police units carried out simultaneous raids, arresting 24 more suspects involved in the network.

Police are expanding their investigation, focusing on compiling prosecution files to ensure strict legal action against the arrested suspects, tracking down additional accomplices involved in the operation, identifying and tackling individuals who used or facilitated the distribution of illegal substances.
