Thousands of residents and tourists gathered in the Ho Guom pedestrian area in Hanoi on Saturday to watch in awe as Vietnam’s police officers, cavalry troops, and police dogs showcased their impressive skills and tactics.
The Ministry of Public Security on Saturday afternoon launched the ‘Glory to Vietnam’s People's Public Security’ program in the area with a wide range of martial art performances and crime-fighting demonstrations.
In the chilly early March weather, officers demonstrated their strength and prowess through a series of thrilling maneuvers, captivating the audience.
One of the most eagerly awaited parts of the program was the police dog demonstration, in which the dogs deftly jumped over fire barriers and obeyed their handlers' commands with precision.
Spectators applauded in awe at a hypothetical scenario in which these police dogs were used for inspection at a border gate.
The police officers signaled the trained dogs to sniff the suitcases and luggage of travelers, searching for signs of unusual or criminal activity.

The performance by cavalry troops from the Cavalry Mobile Police Force was another highlight of the event.
The horses and their riders put on an incredible show, performing intricate maneuvers such as parading and demonstrating emergency dismounts.
The horses moved with flawless coordination, responding swiftly to commands, amazing the audience with their agility and precision.

Another breathtaking demonstration was the motorcycle procession.
Apart from the striking demonstrations, the event, which lasts until Sunday, features a showcase of specialized police vehicles.
Among them are armored vehicles, anti-riot units, and all-terrain vehicles, which drew great interest from the crowd in the Ho Guom pedestrian area.
For many visitors, including foreign tourists, it was a rare opportunity to see these specialized vehicles up close, sparking curiosity and admiration.

The program commemorates the 77th anniversary of the People's Public Security forces studying and implementing the Six Teachings of President Ho Chi Minh (March 11) and anticipates the 80th anniversary of the traditional day of the Vietnamese People's Public Security forces (August 19).
The event not only offered residents and tourists a chance to learn more about the history and traditions of Vietnam's public security forces, but also aimed to promote a sense of patriotism and national security awareness.
