In Vietnam, 2 women risk lives for photos on railway tracks
This photo, taken from a video clip, shows two women recklessly posing for photos on a railway track in Vinh Phuc Province, northern Vietnam, ignoring the blaring horn and emergency braking of an oncoming train.

In a reckless and life-threatening act, two women were caught on a camera posing on a railway track in Vietnam, heedless of an approaching train and the frantic warnings of the conductor.

The incident occurred on Wednesday at Km54 of the Huong Lai-Vinh Yen railway section in northern Vinh Phuc Province, sparking outrage on social media and prompting an official investigation.

According to Vietnam Railways Corporation (VRC), the event took place at approximately 5:20 pm when train number 3206 was en route.

A video shared online shows the two women strolling along the tracks, appearing unfazed by the blaring horn and emergency braking of the oncoming train.

Only when the train was just 10 meters away did one of them, dressed in black, finally jump off the tracks.

Although no injuries or damages were reported, the incident highlights a disregard for railway safety, according to VRC.

“That area lies entirely within the railway safety corridor,” a VRC official stated.

The video quickly went viral, drawing tens of thousands of comments condemning the reckless act. Many were stunned that the women would risk their lives for a mere photograph, not only endangering themselves but also putting the passengers and crew at risk.

In response, the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security has urged relevant authorities to promptly investigate the incident, emphasizing the need for stricter enforcement of railway safety laws.
