Andrew Henderson, the reigning World Freestyle Football Champion, has been touring Vietnam’s biggest cities and left fans in awe of his amazing tricks.

A video capturing a man showcasing magic skills with the ball surfaced on Facebook on Sunday, with viewers quickly identifying him as the British professional football freestyler performing on a street in District 5, Ho Chi Minh City.

In fact, Henderson has been in Vietnam since February 10 for a tour through Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, during which he held training sessions with local football freestylers and treated fans to demonstrations of his skills.

Freestyle football is the art of self-expression with the ball, while performing various tricks with any part of the body.

The 26-year-old, who is also the UK’s freestyle champion five years running, has kept fans abreast of his Vietnam trip through his three social channels, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

Henderson first announced on his Facebook on February 10 that he would be “Off to Vietnam tomorrow!” before telling fans that he had “a wonderful day training with some of the freestylers from Hanoi” in an Instagram photo on February 13.

The Vietnamese freestylers are from the ATW Team, Vietnam’s first-ever freestyle football club.

The Hanoi freestylers enjoyed the opportunity, with Nguyen Ngoc Phat, one of the ATW Team founders, extending their love for their idol on his personal Facebook profile the same day.

“Today is one of the best days in my life,” Phat wrote. “Thank you everyone for coming today to meet with the crazy freestyler Andrew Henderson. We were really happy to meet you today Andrew, you inspired us too much...and we really appreciated it.”

On February 14, Henderson left the Vietnamese capital for the central city of Da Nang, from which he also toured the neighboring province of Quang Nam, visiting the famed Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The football freestyle champion told his Instagram fans that he “[has been] really enjoying this trip so far” via photos showing him in Hoi An and performing in front of the ancient ruins at My Son.

On February 18, Henderson arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, tweeting the arrival to fans with photos of the city’s famous Nguyen Hue promenade.

On Sunday, Henderson took to Twitter again, announcing that he had “just arrived to Hanoi again! Such a nice place! Happy to be back here with some breeze,” indicating that his Vietnam trip would continue.

In the latest tweet on Monday, the football freestyler expressed his happiness for being able to spend another day in Vietnam, stating that he is going to miss it here, “that’s for certain!”
