An off-road racing event organized for the first time in Vietnam ended on Sunday, having given the participants and spectators enormous excitement.
Knock Out the King 2018, held in Hanoi between March 24 and 25, had all the elements of a thrilling race as two competitors were running on parallel racks and the winner could be identified with ease for each pair.
Participants were allowed to drive pickup trucks or sport utility vehicles, which are equipped with different off-road features.
Knock Out the King 2018, modeled upon Italy’s Monza Rally Show, tested racers’ skillfulness in maneuvering their vehicles, rather than speed.
The race was of the short-course racing format, designed with a track less than two kilometers long on which racers had to run many rounds, according to Nguyen Thanh Hai, head of the organizing board.
He added that the second series of Knock Out the King 2018 is scheduled for June in Binh Duong Province, southern Vietnam.
The champion, Tran Phat, brought home VND150 million (US$6,574).
