Getting within shouting distance of the world’s football greats is a dream of football lovers everywhere, and one Vietnamese superfan has made that dream come true.

Le Van Vu Nam, a diehard Barcelona fan, was born in the central Vietnamese province of Quang Nam and currently works as a software engineer in Singapore.

As a football aficionado and a supporter of the La Liga side, Nam had planned a travel to Russia to support some of his favorite Barça players representing their respective countries at the World Cup.

His initial plan was attending three matches over a ten-day period – one match to see Alba, Iniesta and Busquets play for Spain, another to support Coutinho and Paulinho as they represent Brazil, and a third to see Messi take the field for Argentina.

However, Nam was so busy with work that he missed the chance to buy tickets for any of Argentina’s matches. To make up for his failure he shaved Messi’s signature “10” onto the side of his head.

“The greatest pleasure in traveling to Russia is having the chance to meet fans from every country with passion for football,” Nam said, adding that the Russian people have treated him with sincere friendliness and hospitality.

“The views of the towns are a fantasy and the weather is great for cheering and enjoying the sights,” he said.

The 29-year-old has kept a live journal of his trip through social media. Check out some of his photos below.
