Hanoi FC eye a victory over North Korea’s April 25 Sports Club in the first leg of the 2019 AFC Cup inter-zone play-off final on home turf on Wednesday.

The Capital Team will take on the North Korean visitors at Hang Day Stadium in Hanoi at 7:00 pm (Vietnam time). The game will be broadcast live on FOX Sports 2.

Hanoi have already claimed the title of the 2019 V-League 1 so they will give their all in this game for a win, before visiting North Korea for a tough return game in Pyongyang on October 2.

“We want to get into the 2019 AFC Cup grand final,” Hanoi’s coach Chu Dinh Nghiem said ahead of the clash at Hang Day.

“Hanoi are a team and we do not rely on any one player.”

“We head for a good result at home.”

There is little information on April 25 Sports Club, except some of their games at the 2019 AFC Cup, Nghiem said.

But his team will try their best for a victory, he added.  

April 25 Sports Club’s coach O Yun Son expressed his respect for Hanoi but he believed that his men would leave Hang Day with three points.  

“It’s hard to say which side is better as we are both strong enough to get this far in the AFC Cup,” O said.

“We are a military club, with physically fit players.

“We have six national squad members and they will be fielded in the game.”

Hanoi had beaten Turkmenistan champions Altyn Asyr FC 5-4 on aggregate in the AFC Cup inter-zone play-off semis last month while April 25 Sports Club advanced to the inter-zone play-off final following an aggregate 5-4 triumph over Bangladesh’s Abahani Limited Dhaka. 

The winners in the inter-zone play-off final will encounter either Jordan’s Al-Jazeera or Lebanon’s Al-Ahed in the 2019 AFC Cup final on November 2.
